J.C. Le Roux — Chrysalis Collection Retail Display Installation

For the launch and retail presentation of J.C. Le Roux's Chrysalis Collection, the project involved the design and fabrication of a series of bespoke display installations.

The objective was to create a display environment that would communicate the collection's premium positioning while reinforcing the themes of celebration, transformation, and elegance central to the Chrysalis identity.

The concept drew inspiration from the idea of transformation contained within the name Chrysalis.

Floral forms, layered textures, and sculptural depth were used to suggest growth, unfolding, and emergence; visual metaphors closely aligned with celebration, milestones, and moments of transformation. Paper was selected for its ability to capture both delicacy and precision. Through carefully constructed botanical forms, the material created a sense of lightness and sophistication while allowing the installation to maintain a distinctly handcrafted character.

Careful consideration was given to composition and product hierarchy, ensuring that the installations functioned simultaneously as sculptural artworks and effective retail displays.

Integrated lighting enhanced the dimensional qualities of the paper elements, creating shifting shadows and highlights that brought the installations to life within the retail environment.

By combining contemporary paper sculpture with retail design principles, the project elevated the presentation of the collection while reinforcing themes of celebration, elegance, and transformation.
